Gloomy Sunday, the movieAs mentioned in a previous post, movies that you have an abnormal appreciation with are an excellent sign of some kind of hidden notion that has an impact on your life.
This past year I have been requesting and getting guidance. The direction come to me via films, publications, generally.
I have Netflix. I don't recognize what's hip, what's cool, and tha tis helpful. Ego and the collective ego isn't moving my steps.
This is how this film "Gloomy Sunday" appeared on my display. Terrible title, if you ask me! And it's a Hungarian motion picture, speaking in German, with English subtitles. It was a Gloomy Sunday, and I chose to watch it.
I had bias on top of bias, nevertheless the Gloomy Sunday was now there, and it was clear it was there for me personally.
The Gloomy Sunday takes place in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
4 characters, a Jewish restorateur, Andras, his girl friend and manager of the restaurant, Ilona, the restaurant's piano player, and a German guest.
The film begins today, with the arrival of a birthday party from Germany. The birthday man, a German, was once a regular patron at this restaurant, so they cook for him his treasured dish.
The popular dish comes, his plate is adorned using a huge 80; it is his 80th birthday.
He begins his dish, frequently looking at the framed photograph of Ilona on the piano. After a number of bites he all of a sudden grips his chest, and he drops from the chair and dies on the spot.
The rest of the Gloomy Sunday movie recounts the story what transpired 50-60 years before.
The 3 Hungarians had a type of 3-some, Ilona is incredibly stunning, and both the owner and the piano player are her lovers. The German guest also falls under her spell, and when she refuses him, he heads to the Danube to kill himself.
Andras drags him out of the Danube, and saves his life.
5 years later the German returns, now he's an officer in Hitler's army, and he still loves the restaurant, however the times have changed.
He is in control of the Jewish transports to the extermination camps, but guarantees the restaurant owner that he's protected, given that he had saved his life.
The piano player composes a song to Ilona, that gets popular throughout the world as the suicide song. The song known as "Gloomy Sunday" and it is depressing, it talks about betrayal, and being lonely, and death. He purchases a bottle of poison to kill himself, but Andras takes it away from him. He still finds a way to kill himself.
